This type of slide gate valve was originally designed for the Pool & Spa Industry to hold higher pressures compared to the bolted versions. It is typically used to hold back Above Ground Pool, Hot Tub or Spa water while the filter is being changed or maintenance is being done on the pump but has many other applications. It has a one piece (body and fittings) UniBody configuration which is made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC). It can be used in any application that requires less than 75 pounds per square inch (PSI) of working pressure and is in an easily accessible location as it is not repairable. Easy push pull operation; locks in the closed position and comes with a gate keeper to hold the valve open. These slide valves are sometimes referred to as “knife or guillotine” gate valves and are a great alternative to ball valves in low pressure applications since they are full flow and quick opening.
